What is an Eyebrow Transplant?
Eyebrow transplantation is a cosmetic procedure that helps restore eyebrows and give them a completely natural look. There are many reasons why someone might want an eyebrow transplant, from patients who have lost their eyebrows due to medical conditions, to those who have previously had excessive eyebrow plucking, but regardless of the cause, eyebrow transplant surgery provides a permanent result of a facial transformation.
The process of eyebrow transplantation is similar in concept to hair transplantation, in which hair is taken from the donor area and transferred to the eyebrow area. At Novomed, we have been pioneers in eyebrow transplant procedures in Dubai and our specialists are known for their experience in performing this delicate procedure. we offer revolutionary eyebrow transplant using the FUE technique to help restore hair to thinning or damaged eyebrows, or even create natural-looking eyebrows for patients who lost all their eyebrow hair.
Why would I need an eyebrow transplant?
There are a variety of reasons why someone might choose to undergo an eyebrow transplant, such as:
- Physical trauma, such as facial injuries and scars caused by accidents and thermal and chemical burns.
- Surgical treatments that result in the removal of eyebrow follicles and tissue scarring. Radiation therapy or cancer chemotherapy can also lead to eyebrow hair loss.
- Compulsive eyebrow plucking known as trichotillomania.
- Congenital conditions that lead to the absence of hair from the body.
How does eyebrow hair transplant work?
FUE hair transplant procedures involve removing a portion of the patient’s hair, most commonly from the back of the scalp, and grafting hair into the eyebrow area. This increases the existing eyebrows or completely replaces them if the patient loses their natural eyebrows.
An area of the scalp at the back of the head is numbed with a local anesthetic. A strip of the scalp is given to a technician who separates the hair tissue into individual hair follicles. Then the hair follicles are transplanted into the eyebrow one by one. The procedure usually includes about 400 grafts implanted into each brow and takes about 3 hours.
Eyebrow transplant surgery is performed under local anesthesia, so it is not painful. The results are permanent, and there will be noticeable result between 4 to 6 months after the surgery.
Does the transplanted hair continue to grow?
Since the donor hair transplanted into the eyebrow comes from the scalp, it will grow to the full length of your head hair. Therefore, the transplanted eyebrow hair should be trimmed
periodically. This is quite standard for eyebrow transplantation and after some time the transplanted hair can be modified and may not need trimming.
