Doctor's Bio

Dr. Lyor Hanan is a French-trained Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon practising across Dubai and Paris, with a focus on natural-looking facial rejuvenation and advanced breast surgery. Known for precision and restraint, he is recognised for results that refine a patient’s appearance without altering their identity.

Dr. Hanan’s philosophy is built on precision, honesty, safety and natural results. He believes a successful aesthetic procedure should enhance a patient’s features without changing their identity, achieving a result that is harmonious and proportionate rather than visibly operated.

Every treatment plan begins with a detailed analysis of the patient’s anatomy, concerns, medical history, lifestyle and expectations. Initial consultations run 45 to 60 minutes, giving patients time to understand what surgery can realistically achieve, what it cannot, the risks involved, the recovery process and the available alternatives. Dr. Hanan considers knowing when not to operate to be an essential part of responsible plastic surgery.

Each patient he operates on receives his personal telephone number, reflecting the close and individualised post-operative follow-up he considers central to surgical care.

He completed an eight-year specialist surgical training pathway at several of Paris’s leading university hospitals, including Saint-Louis, Hôpital Européen Georges-Pompidou, Henri-Mondor and Tenon. At Georges-Pompidou he trained under Professor Laurent Lantieri, a pioneer in facial transplantation, contributing to the anatomical preparation and post-operative management of full face transplantation cases. At Saint-Louis — historically the first plastic surgery department in Paris — he trained in nose reconstructive and secondary rhinoplasty surgery.

Dr. Hanan subsequently served as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in France, where he led the microsurgery unit for DIEP and PAP free-flap breast reconstruction. His hospital practice combined aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and breast, including breast reconstruction following cancer and the surgical management and reconstruction of facial skin cancers.

He holds three inter-university diplomas — in Microsurgery and in Aesthetic and Functional Rhinoplasty from Paris Sorbonne, and in Surgical Anatomy from Bordeaux — and has pursued advanced training with recognised specialists in deep-plane facelift surgery, preservation rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery. He is registered with the French Medical Council and licensed by the Dubai Health Authority as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.

Dr. Hanan’s practice includes both primary and revision surgery, and he treats a highly international patient population across his Dubai and Paris practices. His approach is not the application of a single standard technique: each operation is planned around the individual patient’s anatomy, tissue quality, proportions and aesthetic objectives.

1. What is a deep-plane facelift and how is it different from a traditional facelift? A deep-plane facelift repositions the deeper facial muscle and fat layers rather than only tightening the skin. Because the lift comes from underlying structures, the result looks more natural and lasts longer, with less tension on the skin. It is technically more demanding and requires specific surgical training. 2. Will a facelift make me look operated on? Not when the technique is matched to your anatomy. Dr. Hanan’s approach is to reposition tissue rather than pull skin, so the aim is a face that looks fresher and more harmonious while remaining entirely recognisable. Over-tightening is what creates an operated appearance, and it is avoidable. 3. What is preservation rhinoplasty? Preservation rhinoplasty reshapes the nose while conserving its natural structures rather than removing and rebuilding them. The nasal dorsum is lowered as a unit instead of being cut away, which tends to give a smoother profile, a more natural result and a more predictable recovery. 4. What is minimally invasive breast augmentation under local anaesthesia? It is a breast augmentation technique performed through a smaller access point under local anaesthesia, avoiding general anaesthesia. Recovery is typically faster and post-operative discomfort lower. It suits patients seeking a petite or natural-looking increase in volume, and candidacy depends on tissue quality and anatomy. 5. What is the difference between petite, natural and traditional breast augmentation? Petite and natural augmentation aim for a modest, proportionate increase using implants sized to your existing anatomy. Traditional augmentation uses dual-plane or subglandular placement for a greater change in volume. The right option depends on tissue thickness, chest proportions and the result you want. 6. Can previous surgery by another surgeon be corrected? Yes. Revision facelift, revision rhinoplasty and revision breast surgery form a significant part of Dr. Hanan’s practice. Revision cases are more complex than primary surgery because of scar tissue and altered anatomy, so assessment focuses on what can realistically be improved. 7. How long is the recovery after a facelift or blepharoplasty? Most patients are socially presentable around two to three weeks after a facelift and one to two weeks after blepharoplasty, though swelling continues to settle for several months. Recovery varies with the procedure, technique and individual healing, and is discussed in detail at consultation. 8. What happens during a consultation with Dr. Hanan? Consultations last 45 to 60 minutes and include a detailed analysis of your anatomy, concerns, medical history and expectations. Dr. Hanan explains what surgery can and cannot achieve, the risks, the recovery and the alternatives — including advising against surgery where it is not the right option.
