Overview
Botox is a well-known botulinum toxin injectable product that can be administered for cosmetic or medicinal purposes. Dermatologists inject small amounts of Botox into targeted muscles to reduce wrinkles and give the face a rejuvenated appearance.
Botox injections block specific chemical responses from nerves, particularly ones that cause muscular contractions. Thus, they are commonly used to temporarily relax facial muscles that create creases in the forehead and around the eyes. Common cosmetic uses for Botox include smooth fine lines and wrinkles in:
- Eyebrows.
- Forehead.
- Nose.
- Eyes (crow’s feet).
- Lips.
- Chin.
- Jawline.
- Neck.

- Safe, FDA-approved injectable.
- Quick procedure with no downtime.
- Instant results that last 3-4 months.
- Reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
- Provides natural-looking results.
- Increases self-confidence.
Am I a good candidate for Botox?
If you feel insecure about the creases and deep lines on your face and are searching for a non-invasive approach with instant results, you may be suitable candidate for this procedure. Our dermatologist will assess your suitability for the Botox injection during your visit by reviewing your medical history and examining your skin. They will explain the process in-depth, evaluate your aesthetic goals and expectations, and then create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
What to expect?
Botox injections are administered in the doctor’s office as an outpatient procedure and take no longer than fifteen minutes.
Our specialists recommend not to wear any makeup on the day of your appointment since the dermatologist will clean your skin before injecting Botox. The doctor will administer a numbing lotion and then use a fine needle to strategically inject Botox into the facial muscles that cause wrinkles to form. After the injection, your skin will be thoroughly cleaned, and ice packs can be used to reduce discomfort.
Botox recovery and aftercare
You may experience redness and mild pain at the injection sites following treatment, but this can be managed with over-the-counter medications and ice packs.
The results usually appear in 7 to 14 days. Alcohol should be avoided at least one week before the procedure. To avoid bruising, you should also stop using aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs two weeks before treatment.
Do not massage the injection site for 24 hours to prevent Botox from spreading to other areas. Your doctor may also instruct you to refrain from exercising for at least one day and remain seated upright for four hours following the injections.
How long does the results of Botox injection last?
Botox is a personalized treatment, and the outcomes will differ from patient to patient. After treatment, you can enjoy a younger, wrinkle-free appearance that lasts between three and four months.
To maintain the results, you can undergo treatment sessions regularly. Usually, the lines and wrinkles become less prominent as time passes because the muscles are tightening.
