Dr. Fares Issa is a Specialist Psychiatrist with extensive clinical experience in comprehensive mental health assessment and treatment across outpatient and acute psychiatric settings. He is recognized for his evidence-based approach to psychiatric care and expertise in advanced psychiatric treatments including electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and intravenous ketamine infusion therapy.
Dr. Fares completed his specialized psychiatric training through a comprehensive residency program at King Abdullah University Hospital, one of the region’s leading academic medical institutions, where he also earned his Higher Specialty Degree in Psychiatry from Jordan University of Science and Technology. His medical education was completed at Jordan University of Science and Technology, followed by clinical internship training at Al-Basheer Hospital and King Abdullah University Hospital.
Throughout his training, Dr. Fares developed advanced procedural expertise in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and intravenous ketamine infusion therapy — evidence-based treatments for severe psychiatric conditions. His clinical experience spans emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, and comprehensive outpatient psychiatric management. He is skilled in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), supportive psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology.
As Chief Resident of the Psychiatry Residency Program at King Abdullah University Hospital, Dr. Fares demonstrated clinical leadership through residency program coordination, supervision of junior residents, and medical student teaching. He remains actively involved in psychiatric education and professional development through his role as Part-Time Lecturer at Yarmouk University.
