Perineoplasty, also known as Perineorrhaphy, is a surgical procedure that tightens the vaginal opening and repairs damage to the perineum (the area between the anus and the vagina).

What happens during Perineoplasty?
Perineoplasty takes around an hour and is performed under general or local anesthesia.
During Perineoplasty, our surgeon will remove excess tissue and skin at the vaginal opening. The perineal muscles and vaginal opening are then either tightened or loosened to correct the condition, (depending on the cause for the surgery), and then the wound edges are meticulously sutured together.
What should I expect after Perineoplasty?
You may experience soreness in the treatment areas, and the perineum may swell for a week or two following the surgery. The pain is usually mild to moderate and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.
Most patients are able to leave the hospital within a few hours after the procedure and return to work after a few days. Patients are advised to refrain from intense sport or sexual activity for six weeks after Perineoplasty to allow proper healing.
How long does this procedure take?
Although the duration of the surgery can vary from one patient to another, you can expect it to take between one and two hours.
